Mr. Coleman carried on the development of the company until such a time as the Second World War made it impossible for the work to continue, and in 1939 the 8th closed it's doors. However, the closure was not long lived. In 1940 the company re-started under the guidance of Mr. Revd. Sydney Hunt. At this time Mr. H. L. Hall in conjunction with Mr. Hill shared that Captaincy, and with the help of Mr. Gabb, endeavoured to put the 8th 'back on the map'. Due to the poor health of Mr. Hall, Mr.Gabb took the role as acting Captain, and not long after, Mr. Hill succeeded him.
