Stephen Knox and Clive Haslam have both completed their Queens Badge which was awarded to them on Sunday 30th June 2009 by the Brigade Secretary.
Clive and Stephen have undertaken a great amount of work in the BB over the last few years not least this final years where clive worked voluntarilly at a charity shop and Stephen worked as a volunteer at Fort Rocky weekends organised by YFC (Youth For Christ). both men have also been active in the community through the Community Action project we have helping people who struggle to maintain thier gardens.
It has been an immense pleasure to see both Clive and Stephen grow through the company. They have both become very able and competent leaders and are an asset to the company here at St. Bonuiface and indeed to their peers. We wish them noth the very best as they go on to Gap years, Stephen working with a church and Clive travelling to Botswana in January to work with YFC.

Cottage (CWRT)
The weekend of the 27th February to the 1st March was the Seniors cottage. A number of lads attended and had a fantastic time. At the weekend a number of bible verses were shared as were prayers for each other, St. Boniface and the wider world.
Company Section cottage took place over the weekend of 13th - 15th March and was a wonderful weekend. The theme of that weekend was putting off our old selves.

Birmingham Battalion Swimming Competition
A number of boys took part in the Birmingham Battalion Swimming Gala which was held at Beeches Swimming pool in Great Barr. Juniors, company and senior section boys all competed against other boys throughout the city.
Of all those who took part Nathan Collins led the way by qualifying for all three finals he entered. In addition, out of the three finals, Nathan took Silver in each final. A great achievement.
A big thank you to parents who helped with transport and to all the boys who participated.
Well done to you all.
Please note, due to the current weather and the lack of heating in the church hall, all BB is cancelled this Wednesday 4th February 2009. Please check back here for more up to date information concerning next week and the forthcoming swimming Gala.

125th Day in Birmingham
The 8th took part in the 125th celebrations in Birmingham City centre on Saturday 4th October. The Birmingham
Battalion had organised games, a marquee with memorabilia and a climbing wall. It was a great day and certainly raised the awareness of the public with regard to the Boys' Brigade. A couple of lads from the 8th had a go on the climbing wall and had great fun.
The Boys' Brigade is 125 years old! There are many events taking place throughout the country and Birmingham. We will be getting involved in the Battalion events and will let you all know what we have been up to for the 125th celebrations
New Session - 2008 - 2009
Our new session has begun!
We have a wonderful year planned for all our young people and look forward to a lot of fun and achievements.
We also welcome to the staff, Jane Platt who is St. Boniface Church Curate. Jane has taken the role of leader of the Anchor Section on a temporary basis until a more permanent replacement can be found for Kate Hudson who has stepped down as Officer in Charge of this section. We are so grateful for the work Kate has done over the last 8 years which has led to many boys going through Anchors, Juniors and into Company Section. Thank you!
Also, we have plans for our summer camp in 2009 which will be in tents at the West Midlands Camping site in Dyffryn, Wales. Will be different from previous years, but will be a wonderful week returning to the older tradition of Camp in Tents. We do hope all young boys and girls from Juniors, Company and Senior Section will attend. the dates are Saturday 25th July - Saturday 1st August.
We shall be updating this site regularly throughout the year with news and events. Please do check back to make sure you are up to date. Also, please look at the online calendar link above which gives you the most up to date listing of events, competitions and commitments that boys are taking part in. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff who will be more than happy to help.
